How to create a Preview and your first Enviz space

Updated over a week ago

The Enviz workflow at a glance

Enviz works in two stages:

  1. Preview – a one-time first step to check your model

  2. Enviz Space – a fully immersive, shareable experience built for real use

What is a Preview?

A preview is a fast, technical conversion (β‰ˆ30 minutes) designed to validate your model setup before committing to a final Enviz Space.

A Preview is used for:

  • Confirming your model uploads successfully

  • Checking that walls, floors, and major elements are present

  • Ensuring textures are applied to the correct surfaces

  • Spotting obvious layout or object placement issues

  • Generating early AI images or videos for concept exploration

A Preview is not designed for:

  • Final material or colour decisions

  • Accurate lighting or atmosphere

  • Performance testing across devices

  • Client presentations or sharing

What is an Enviz Space?

An Enviz Space is the full Enviz experience which bakes lighting and reflections into your scene, delivering a more realistic and immersive experience.

Enviz Spaces are created and managed inside the Enviz portal and are designed to be shared and presented with.

Enviz Spaces are built for:

  • Client presentations and walkthroughs

  • Collaboration with teams and stakeholders

  • Viewing on browser, mobile, tablet, and VR

  • Ongoing use throughout the design and sales process

  • Generating high value AI images and videos

Before you begin, you'll need

A 3D Model

Ensure you have a model in one of the supported formats:

  • Native File Formats:

    • Revit (.rvt)

    • SketchUp (.skp)

    • 3ds Max (.max)

  • Non-Native File Formats:

    • ArchiCAD

    • Rhino

    • Blender

Note: non-native files mus be exported as .skp, .rvt, or .max. You can find additional support on non-native file types here

Refer to our modelling guidelines to ensure your model meets the input requirements.

A Compatible Device

You’ll need a device to view your completed experience. Supported devices include:

  • Mobile (iOS, Android)

  • Tablet (iOS, Android)

  • VR Headsets (Meta Quest II, Meta Quest III, Apple Vision Pro - coming soon)

The Enviz App

Download and install the Enviz App on your chosen device. Note: The Enviz app and its feature set are not available on Desktop. Desktop users can access a separate i-frame viewer with limited functionality.
