EnvizPro - Getting Started

General Overview

The EnvizPro workflow is built on the Bake to Texture method, which is simple in theory but involves a significant number of techniques to reach a polished final product. Because of that, this guide walks through the process, step by step, so you understand the general principles.

Initially you will be introduced by the "Orchestrator" which is the automated pipeline that gets you to a viewable result quickly so you can see your space come to life, then go back and refine. The automatic process runs on your machine for 12+ hours depending on the size of your scene and your render time selection, but most of that is unattended, run it and walk away from your machine while it processes. Once the Orchestrator is complete, it will automatically upload your scene onto the Enviz app so that you can review your scene.

You can then either fine tune your scene by using the "Master Layers" tab that gives you more control over the detail or polish your reflections and add that flare via the Space editor which is available through the portal here.

Here is a simple guide on Installing the Plugin

Before you start

  • An Enviz account and an internet connection (login, remote jobs, upload).

  • Copy your max file into a new folder. We create temporary files and folders next to your Max file, this will just prevent messy file directories. In addition, the Scene Clean Up and Pre-Deleter steps change geometry. Work on a saved, versioned copy.

  • Consider your exposure settings. Space Pro does not support per camera exposure settings so keep in mind that you can only use the global exposure settings. Create a new (standard) camera and use it as a frame of reference for your lighting which may result in having to adjust the exposure and lighting of your scene. This can also quickly be resolved by using the colour correction tools in the Vray or corona frame buffer.

• V-Ray or Corona for baking.

• Optional: a Deadline repository for farm bakes.

• Disk space. EnvizPro keeps backups, undo history and transfer files in a folder next to your scene. Do not delete that folder until the project is uploaded.

Unsupported Settings

The plugin will disable the settings below by default. Do not enable these settings if you wish to use Space Pro

  • Materials with displacement maps will display black. Refer to the setting below:

  • Time Output in render settings is also set automatically to "single". If any other options are checked the light baking process will not function.
