White model with floor plan

Updated over a week ago

The below guide is for users who wish to create a clean Enviz Space and showcase extra detailing through applying floor plans as texture maps or surface maps.

ArchiCad

While we do not support native Archiad files, below is the steps to remove all textures and apply a floor plan onto a slab surface.

Remove textures

  1. Navigate to Options, Element Attributes and Surfaces

2. Delete all surfaces in the left side column excluding:

i. Glass surfaces

ii. One generic surface that can be applied to all other surfaces. Make sure this surface is white with no transparency

3. Check that all surfaces in your model are showing white. Check that glass objects still use a glass surface. If they do not, re-apply the correct surface as needed.

4. Add a new surface for each floor plan you wish to add. You will need to assign the floor plan as a texture. See below for more information.

Edit your floor slabs

  1. If your slabs are split into multiple sections, remove all and re-create as one entity . This excludes stepped levels. If your flooring is stepped, you will need to create one slab for each level.

  2. Remove any other floor geometry that may overlap and cause issues with the final output

  3. Ensure you leave openings for voids in your slab including stairwells (if applicable)

  4. Assign your new surface texture to your slab. Note: You won't see the floor plan until it is added as a texture (see below steps). Repeat as required.

    1. Select your slab

    2. Right click and select Slab Selection Settings

    3. Scroll down to MODEL and override the top surface only

    4. Select your new surface and click OK

Add a floor plan

  1. Export a floor plan for each of your levels. Ensure your plan is to scale otherwise you will have difficulties applying it as a texture later on.

  2. If your plan is pdf, convert to a high detailed jpg

  3. Navigate back to Surfaces (see above)

  4. Locate the surface you have created for your floor plan

  5. Under TEXTURE select the folder icon on the right

  6. Select Add...

  7. Locate your floor plan jpg in your browser and select okay

  8. Ensure your file is selected and click OK again in the Load Image from Library box

  9. Your picture should now appear in the sample box

  10. Using the dimensions on the right side, adjust the height, width and rotation as required. You may need to do this a few times to get the size

  11. In addition to above, use Creative Imaging to set the origin and direction.

Using Creative Imaging and Surface, Texture settings adjust your texture as needed to accurately align with your model.

Once you are happy with your floor plan texture save your file. Ensure you also create a .skp version to upload to Enviz Space by clicking 'Save As' and changing the file type.
