The 360 review tool allows CGI Partners to easily share 360 degree renders to their clients for review and approval. This removes the need for an expensive third-party system.
Please note: The Enviz plugin is optional and is there if you have no other system already in place. However, the process for Life-like experiences still requires you submit a set of 360 renders alongside your archived 3Ds Max scene.
These renders should match your archived scene. Please ensure you do not supply us with outdated renders as we use these as a part of our quality assurance.
Top Tip! When working with your clients for the review process, its important to take as many renders as possible throughout your scene. This gives them the best opportunity to see all angles and areas of their experience. The less you take, the higher the chances they miss something and wish to make changes after their experience is live. Likely costing you time and money.
What is the Review tool?
The review tool is a combination of a 3Ds Max plugin and the Enviz Portal. The plugin easily creates 360 degree renders from within your 3Ds Max file. Once created you can load them directly into your Enviz portal account.
Once loaded in the portal, you are able to share your review images with others. This shareable URL is a separate i-frame that does not require a login or give your client access to any other data saved in the Enviz portal.
Accessing the Plugin
The plugin is available within the Enviz Portal and is surfaced once you have created a Life-like experience.
Functionality of the Plugin
To instal your plugin simply drag and drop it into your 3Ds Max scene. This will create a new tab named Enviz. Under the Enviz tab there will be two options:
Render
Viewer
Render should be used first. This is where you drop your camera points throughout your scene. As stated above, this should not be one or two, but as many as are required to see all of your scene.
Set your rendering settings and hit render.
Top Tip! If you are worried about the number of renders and the total time, we suggest adjusting the settings to 2000 x 1000 at 10-15mins.
The Viewer is where you can now log into the Enviz portal and upload your images. Simply select the right project and experience first.
If you do not have one set up yet, you can log into the Portal and create one first. Follow the guidelines here if you are unsure.
Functionality of the Portal Review Tool
The review tool in the portal is where you will load your 360 review images. This can be for review purposes between you and your client, or for the final approved renders required for Enviz. We have allowed you the option to upload these manually or directly from the Enviz Plugin - see above for more detail.
Sharing your images
To share your experience, make sure you have loaded your images into your experience, either manually or using the Enviz plugin. In the review image section select Share this revision at the top right-hand corner of the screen. Please note: this button will only appear after adding review images.
You will be prompted to enter your clients name and their email address. This does not send them an email - see next step.
Now click Generate link and send this link to your client via your desired method.
Important Note: Clients can add comments to images, however at this time notifications have not been activated. Please be mindful when using this feature with your client. Although you will be able to see your client comments in the portal, you will need to communicate with them directly for updates.
Revisions
If you proceed with multiple revisions, these will show on the left side of your screen. Existing links will refresh with new revisions, however we recommend creating a new link and re-sharing this with your client each time.
Deleting images and comments
In addition to a shareable link, you also have the ability to delete images or comments. Please note that the deletion of images is only available to the account owner and not within the shareable i-frame. In addition, comments can only be deleted by the creator.
